The Purpose is to find out the undervalued and overvalued Point Guard in the NBA.

Data Collection: all the data come from the Basketball Reference (66 records)

Data Validation: only PG will be considered; players on pace to play 500 or more minutes; players must have played 6.09 MPG(minutes per game)

Tool: R and Excel

Assumptions: value contribution=(points+OR*2+DR+AST*2+STL*2+BLK*2-TO*2-PF)/MP

                     Linear Regression (Value contribution~ 2013-2014 season salary)

Results:

We can find several overvalued PG, such as John Lucus, Luke Ridnour, Jarrett Jack, Jeremy Lin, and Deron Williams.

And, several undervalued PG, such as Chris Paul, Stephen Curry, John Wall, Kryie Irving, Michael Carter-Williams and Isaiah Thomas.
